Ingredients & Supplies

  • 3 cups shaving cream
  • ½ teaspoon ARM & HAMMER™ Baking Soda
  • ½ cup white glue
  • ½ cup white polyester fiberfill micro beads
  • 1-2 tablespoons saline solution
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula
  • Cutting board
  • Figurines

 

Directions

  1. Pour three cups shaving cream into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add ½ teaspoon of baking soda and ½ cup of glue to mixing bowl and mix together.
  3. Stir in ½ cup of foam microbeads.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon of saline solution into the mix. Stir until you get the desired, slimy texture.
  5. Pour a small portion of saline solution onto cutting board, then place that small amount in your hands. Knead your slime until it is no longer sticky.
  6. You’re ready to add any figures and shape your snow slime as desired!

 

3. Replicate A Classic Christmas Treat with Candy Cane Slime

Perhaps no single holiday treat screams Christmastime like candy canes. The red and white swirly hooks are a staple as far as candies go and, yes, they are among the different types of slime you can make with baking soda! Sculpt your own candy cane forest or imagine a unique version of the Nutcracker with this fun holiday slime.

 

Ingredients & Supplies

  • 1 bottle (6 oz) – red glitter glue plus 6 oz. regular white (PVA) glue
  • ½ teaspoon ARM & HAMMER™ Baking Soda
  • 1½ tablespoons saline solution
  • Small mixing bowl
  • 1 tablespoon of water (optional)
  • Glitter (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Peppermint extract (optional)

 

Directions

  1. Pour all 6 oz of the red glitter glue and 6 oz of white glue into a bowl.
  2. Add ½ teaspoon baking soda and mix thoroughly. Add up to ¼ cup water for extra stretchy slime.
  3. Add in saline solution in portions (perhaps 1 tablespoon to start) and knead to the desired consistency.
  4. If desired, add peppermint extract and mix.
  5. Take your slime out and pull apart, shaping different pieces into candy canes!

 

4. Feel the Holiday Spirit by Making Gingerbread Slime!

When making holiday slimes, don’t just stop at candy canes. Just a few degrees of separation from the candy cane recipe and you can find yourself making slime gingerbread! Grab the baking soda from the cabinet, break out the candies, harness your creative juices and start in on this cheery and playful slime.

 

Ingredients & Supplies

  • 5 oz clear glue
  • ½ cup water
  • Brown acrylic paint
  • Gingerbread fragrance oil
  • Brown and gold glitter
  • ½ teaspoon ARM & HAMMER™ Baking Soda
  • 1 tablespoon saline contact lens solution
  • Small mixing bowl

 

Directions

  1. Combine 5 oz glue, a few drops of brown paint and a few drops of fragrance oil to a small bowl.
  2. Add brown and gold glitter to the bowl and stir.
  3. Add ½ teaspoon baking soda and stir well to combine.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon saline solution and stir again. Use hands to knead slime until it is less sticky.
  5. If you need to preserve your slime for later use, store it in an airtight container to prevent drying.

Thanksgiving is typically a time for family, food and reflection, plus fall colors and the crunching of leaves. With baking soda, it can also be a time for slime! This fluffy turkey slime recipe appeals to all the senses. Don’t be surprised if your mouth starts watering thinking about a bountiful feast!

 

Ingredients & Supplies

  • ½ cup white (PVA) glue
  • 1 tablespoon saline solution
  • ½ teaspoon ARM & HAMMER™ Baking Soda
  • ½ cup water
  • Brown food coloring
  • Mixing bowl
  • Gold glitter
  • Turkey confetti or maple leaf foil confetti

 

Directions

  1. Add ½ cup water and ½ cup glue to bowl and combine.
  2. Add brown coloring and gently mix in.
  3. Add glitter and your choice of turkey or leaf foil confetti.
  4. Stir in ½ teaspoon baking soda. You can include more for added firmness.
  5. Finally, mix in 1 tablespoon saline solution and stir until slime begins to harden.
  6. Knead your slime!

 

6. Spooky Glow-in-the-Dark Slime

Now here’s where things really get sticky! Halloween is the ideal time to break out glowing soda slime. That’s right, watch as the oozing slime gives off a glow-in-the-dark green tint! Ingredients & Supplies

  • ½ teaspoon ARM & HAMMER™ Baking Soda
  • 8 oz washable PVA glue
  • ½ tablespoon glow powder
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon saline solution
  • Storage container
  • Beads, non-adhesive gemstones, and glitter (optional)

 

Directions

  1. Pour 8 oz glue into storage container.
  2. Add ½ cup of water and mix well, then stir in ½ tablespoon of baking soda.
  3. Add ½ tablespoon glow powder until mixture reaches desired color.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon saline solution and knead with hands until slime starts to harden.
  5. For some added fun, include beads, non-adhesive gemstones and glitter.
  6. “Charge” your slime by letting it sit in indirect sunlight for 15-20 minutes.

  • 4 oz clear glue or green glitter glue
  • 1 tablespoon ARM & HAMMER™ Baking Soda
  • 1 tablespoon saline solution
  • Green food coloring or yellow and blue food coloring (if using white or clear glue)
  • Red sequin hearts or heart-shaped beads
  • Mixing bowl

 

Directions

  1. Empty 4 oz bottle of glue into mixing bowl.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda and mix.
  3. Squirt in 1 tablespoon of saline solution.
  4. Stir mixture until baking soda is dissolved and mixture pulls away from sides of the bowl. Add more saline until slime becomes easier to pull.
  5. Add 3-4 drops of green food coloring and stir, then knead slime. To get that particularly “mean” shade of green, try 4 drops of yellow food coloring and one small drop of blue.
  6. Pour in red hearts. Mix evenly.
  7. If you have your own dog, now’s the time to dress him with reindeer antlers!

  • 1 bottle 6 oz glitter glue
  • Pink, gold and blue glitter
  • ½ teaspoon ARM & HAMMER™ Baking Soda
  • 1½ tablespoons of saline solution
  • Up to ¼ cup of water for a stretchier slime
  • Mixing bowl

 

Directions

  1. Pour 6 oz glitter glue into bowl and add ½ teaspoon baking soda. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Add glitter and combine with contents of the bowl.
  3. Add saline solution in ½ tbsp portions. Mix with every portion you add.
  4. Mix slime until it hardens and knead with hands.
  5. Do you believe your eyes? You’ve brought your unicorn slime to life!

 

Peace, Love and Tie-Dye Slime

Rainbows don’t have to come out after a downpour. Not when you can whip up some tie-dye slime  with baking soda. This recipe will bring out all the vibrant colors of a tie-dye shirt. It can also make for a nice way of offering support and added visibility during LGBTQ+ Pride Month in June.

 

Ingredients & Supplies

  • Small bowl for each color
  • Bottle of white liquid all-purpose or washable glue
  • ARM & HAMMER™ Baking Soda
  • Saline solution
  • Liquid food coloring

 

Directions

  1. Pour 5 oz liquid glue into each small bowl.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon baking soda to each bowl. Mix well.
  3. Add a few drops of food coloring to respective bowls.
  4. Add 2 teaspoons saline solution to each bowl and stir.
  5. Knead slime with hands until hard. You can add more saline solution for assistance.
  6. Stretch and twist different slimes together to create tie dye pattern!
